Hunting, fishing day offers activities at Koko Head Range

Hawai'i events for National Hunting and Fishing Day will be at the Koko Head Public Shooting Range Sept. 22-23 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The annual event recognizes the contributions of sportsmen and sportswomen in the conservation of wildlife and aquatic resources.

Participants who bring canned food or cash donations will receive an activity coupon to take part in skeet, .22 rifle/handgun, muzzleloader, archery, airgun or fish casting contests.

RUNNING

• Fun run: The Women's Equality Day Celebration, presented by the 732nd Military Intelligence Battalion, will feature a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile keiki fun run/walk Aug. 25 at Desiderio Field, Schofield Barracks.

The 5K run begins at 7 a.m. and the 1-mile run begins at 8 a.m.

Cost is $20 with a T-shirt, or free with no T-shirt.

BASKETBALL

• 5-on-5 tournament: The Honolulu Summer Shootout is Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at Koko Head and Kalakaua district parks.

The Honolulu Basketball Club, the organizer of the event, is seeking sponsors for the event.

Any company or organization that donates $250 or more will be considered a full sponsor and will have its name and logo on flyers, T-shirts, programs and signs.
