Tube Notes

OF LOCAL INTEREST:

"Emme & Friends," 6:30 p.m., CBS (repeats at 2 p.m. Sunday). Hawai'i Regional Cuisine chefs Peter Merriman, Beverly Gannon and Alan Wong will be Emme Tomimbang's guests. They reminisce about the culinary revolution of the past decade in the Islands.

TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: (network TV):

"An American Celebration at Ford's Theatre," 9 p.m., ABC. There are plenty of things to dislike about this special. Disney treats it as one long promo. Still, there are plenty of good moments in this annual show taped in June.

TODAY'S MUST-SEE (cable):

"Strange Frequency," 4 p.m., VH1. This notion began in January with a movie that assembled four spooky tales. The tone is "Twilight Zone" but the tales involve music.

"Come on Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story" (1999), 7 p.m., ABC. Somehow a mild-mannered TV show hatched a pop singing group, sending careers on a bizarre whirl. This film views it from the perspective of Danny Bonaduce, who played Danny Partridge.

Football, 2 p.m., CBS. The Baltimore Ravens play the New York Jets in yet another pre-season game.
