• In connection with the help offered to help save the baby sperm whale found stranded on the Big Island's Kona coast, Marlee Breese, former curator of Sea Life Park on O'ahu, said: "I think people are basically good and people want to help, and on something like this it is very uncomplicated, the perception of need is very straightforward and the desire to help is very strong." A writer mistakenly attributed the quote to another person in a column yesterday.
