Basketball

Biathlon

Sept. 16 — 6th Annual Sand & Surf Biathlon Ocean Swim & Run. At Kailua Beach Park. 1-mile swim & 5-mile beach run. Check-in time 6 to 6:45 a.m. Race starts at 7 a.m. Age Divisions: 10-under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-older. Entry Fees: adults $20/team $40; children $15/team $30. Entry deadline Sept. 9. Late entries will be accepted with an additional $5 late fee. Entry forms available at Nu'uanu YMCA, McCully Bike Shop, The Running Room, Triathlete, Sports Authority, Safeway, Kailua District Park Swimming Pool, UH Duke Kahanamoku Swimming Pool. Box car racing

Cheerleading

Aug. 25-26— University of Hawai'i 2001 Pop Warner Youth Camp. At the University of Hawai'i Athletic Complex. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Youth cheerleaders ages 6-13. Learn cheers, chants, dances and stunts. Fee: $50. Deadline is Aug. 20. Information: UH Cheerleading office, 956-4503.


Flag football

Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Flag Football Fall Invitational League. Eight-man eligible and four-on-four. Games to be played Sundays at Salt Lake District Park. Season to start in September. Fee: $850 for eight-man eligible. $275 for four-on-four. 10- game minimum. Information: Rick, 672-6050.


Kart racing

Aug. 18-19 — Pacific Karting Club. Learn and watch the latest in Go-Karts in a safe and fun environment at Kahala Mall.


Polo

Running

Aug. 19 — Hickam 15K Run. A Mid-Pacific Road Runners Club race. At Hickam Air Force Base. Registration 5 a.m. at Seabreeze Restaurant, Hickam AFB. Race starts at 6 a.m. This is the first race of the Marathon Readiness Series. Fee: $5 non-members. $2 for members of MPRRC. Information: 295-6777.


Soccer

Aug. 20-24 — MLS Soccer Camp. At Kailua District Park. Fees range from $65-$115 for half- or full-day sessions. The clinic is open to ages 5-18. Information: Tom Watson, 263-4663.


Softball

Tennis

USA 1-2-3 Tennis Lessons. At Diamond Head Tennis Center. For beginners and advanced beginners, ages 6-13. Fee: six one-hour lessons for $18. Triathlon

Volleyball

Wrestling

Sept. 14-16 — Chertow Clinic. At University of Hawai'i-Hilo gym. Former Olympian Ken Chertow will conduct a three-day clinic for boys and girls in 7th through 12th grades.
