Family festival Saturday at Koko Marina Center

What's a summer celebration without a Ferris wheel for the keiki, an ice-cream eating contest and water sports activities?

Families can check out these and more at the Best Day of Summer Fun, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Koko Marina Center, sponsored by center merchants. This free family festival and keiki carnival will feature a mochi ice cream-eating contest at 11:45 a.m., the noon burial of a time capsule (which will be opened in 25 years), a yo-yo contest at 12:30 p.m. and a pizza-eating contest at 1 p.m.

Children's rides and activities include a merry-go-round, take-home crafts, free balloon sculptures by Professor Fun and more. There will also be yoga and skateboard demonstrations, information booths and food booths.
