Mini golf course robbed; man held

Police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the robbery of a Moanalua miniature golf course last night.

Police said the Jungle River Mini Golf course, 98-1101 Moanalua Rd., was closed when the robber threatened an employee with a knife and stole money about 10:20 p.m.

Witnesses followed the robber as he ran away, but he threatened one of them with the knife, police said.

The man was arrested later on suspicion of first-degree robbery and terroristic threatening.

Burn victim in critical condition

A 20-year-old man remained in critical condition at the Straub Medical Center today after suffering severe burns during a flash fire at an auto body shop near the airport yesterday evening.

Firefighters responded to the fire at the Auto World Specialists on 3047 Koapaka St. about 8:30 p.m. Fire officials said the man was removing gas from his car when it ignited.

A hospital spokeswoman said the man suffered burns on more than 90 percent of his body. He was in the intensive care unit today and was able to talk, she said.
