Driver injured in Mililani car crash

A 33-year-old man was in critical condition following a one-car crash last night in Mililani, police said.

The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. as the car was traveling east on Meheula Parkway near Ainamakua Drive. The driver lost control and crashed into a traffic signal pole.

The driver was taken by helicopter to the Queen's Medical Center. It was not known if the driver was speeding or had been drinking alcohol, police said.


Man arrested on contempt warrants

A 24-year-old man who was wanted on contempt warrants was arrested yesterday afternoon in 'Ewa Beach.

Nelson Abiley was the subject of a CrimeStoppers search after two Family Court contempt warrants and a felony contempt of court warrant were issued against him. Abiley has nine felony convictions for robbery, assault, burglary, promoting prison contraband, escape and car theft.

He was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. after police received a call about a suspicious man at Pupu Street near Pohakupuna Road in 'Ewa Beach. Abiley was arrested without incident.


Wai'anae couple held after dispute

Police arrested a Wai'anae couple yesterday after they allegedly fought each other with knives, a metal rod and a vase, police said.

The domestic battle started when the 34-year-old wife refused to let her 38-year-old husband use her car to go to work, police said.

According to police, the husband allegedly choked the wife, tossed her against a bedroom wall and threatened her with a metal rod and vase. In turn, the wife allegedly grabbed two knives and cut her husband at least three times on the left arm.

The wife's brother broke up the fight, police said.

The husband was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a household member. The wife was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
