The Hawaiian Humane Society maintains collection of dog tags from the City & County of Honolulu and before that, the Territory of Hawaii. Our collection is complete except for the years listed below. If you have any dog tags from these years, the Humane Society would love to have them:
The missing years are 1981, 1936, 1932, 1931, 1929, 1928, 1927, 1926, 1908 and earlier.
The variety of tag styles is quite intriguing. The complete tag collection will be on display at the shelter later this year. To donate yours, mail any missing tags to the attention of "Dog Tag Display" at the Hawaiian Humane Society, 2700 Wai'alae Ave., Honolulu, HI 96826, or bring them by during business hours.
