• Honolulu journalists will be speakers in a noncredit University of Hawai'i course, "Getting Free Media Coverage: The Inside Scoop." Instruction will include how to write news releases and approach editors. The two-day course is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 , in Webster Hall, Room 112, on the Manoa campus. • The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce and the Hawai'i Technology Trade Association are sponsoring "Speak Out on Hawai'i's Technology Future: Action Planning Workshop for the Private Sector," scheduled for 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Outrigger Waikoloa Beach Hotel. Ray Kamikawa, former state tax director, and representatives of the Hawai'i Island Technology Association and Hawai'i Island Economic Development Board will be key participants in the workshop, part of a 10-session statewide series. Another session is planned for 7:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, in Rooms 306 and 307 of the Student Center. Fee; nonmembers welcome. Information: 550-4882.
