• Hawai'i Public Radio has hired public radio veteran JOE BEVILACQUA to fill the newly created position of cultural staff reporter. Bevilacqua has 23 years of public radio experience as producer, director, writer, reporter, on-air host and actor. His experience includes National Public Radio's "All Things Considered,'" several productions for "NPR Playhouse" and, most recently, the award-winning "Lady Bird Johnson: Legacy of a First Lady," which he wrote, produced and narrated. Bevilacqua comes to HPR from a stint as producer of special projects for KUT-FM in Austin, Texas.

• PATRICIA A. BLACKBURN has been named director of sales and marketing for Tri-Star Restaurant Group, which owns Aaron's Atop the Ala Moana and Sarento's Top of the I. Blackburn is responsible for the Maui-based restaurant group's sales, advertising and marketing, as well as community and public relations. The company also owns Sarento's on the Beach and Nick's Fishmarket Maui. Nick's Fishmarket in Waikiki is independently owned.

• Labor lawyer Jared Jossem has been inducted as a fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers at the group's installation, held concurrently with the annual meeting of the American Bar Association. Jossem, a former chairman of the Hawai'i Republican Party, is partner in the law firm of Dwyer, Schraff, Meyer, Jossem & Bushnell. He joins the professional organization's 553 other fellows from 39 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada.

• Veteran local journalist and public relations executive STU GLAUBERMAN has been named staff vice president for corporate communications at Aloha Airlines, overseeing internal and external communications and media relations. The former Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star-Bulletin reporter also worked for newspapers in Anchorage, Alaska, and in Singapore, and served as vice president of the Travel and Tourism Division of public relations firm McNeil Wilson Communications, handling accounts including the Hawai'i Visitors & Convention Bureau and Hawaiian Airlines.

•Architect KEVIN SCHOLL, a former senior associate in the Honolulu office of international architectural firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, has been promoted to company vice president. Scholl has served as member of the worldwide senior leader management team, as director of operations in the firm's London office, and is a design director in that office. The firm also has offices in Newport Beach, Calif., and Los Angeles; Orlando, Fla.; Seattle; and Singapore.

• Veteran financial services officer Royce F. Sonnenberg has been hired as senior vice president of City Bank's new investment services division, which, in partnership with UVEST Investment Services, will offer stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities and other investment products. Sonnenberg was most recently manager of Pacific Century Trust's private client services department.

• CHRISTOPHER J. BENJAMIN has joined Alexander & Baldwin Inc. as director of corporate development and planning. Most recently, he was vice president of the Internet, insurance sales and distribution enabling firm ChannelPoint Inc. He is a former director of corporate development for the Queen's Health Systems and was a Pacific Century Fellow in the program's inaugural year.

• DEBBIE L. IIZUKA has joined Finance Insurance Ltd. as supervisor of the commercial lines department. She was previously underwriting manager for the Baptiste Insurance Group.
