Tripler to offer limited services

Most Tripler Army Medical Center outpatient clinics will be closed Friday for a training holiday, and all clinics will be closed Sept. 3 for Labor Day.

The Tripler Army Medical Center Family Practice Clinic will be open for acute care access only on Friday. For more information, call 433-3300.

The pediatric clinic will be open Friday from 9 a.m. to noon for regular appointments and walk-ins from noon to 2 p.m. For more information, call 433-6697.

The outpatient pharmacy will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

The TRICARE Healthcare Information Line at (800) 611-2883 is available with medical staff who can evaluate a patient's signs and symptoms and recommend what step should be taken next.

All clinics will return to normal hours Sept. 4.


Tricare for Life briefings set

Tripler Army Medical Center will provide briefings on the Tricare for Life insurance program.

Briefings will be today, 9-11 a.m., Memorial Theater, Hickam Air Force Base; Wednesday, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Marine Corps Base Hawai'i Theater; and Friday, 10 a.m.-noon, Barbers Point Branch Medical Clinic.

Additional briefings will be Sept. 10, 6-8 p.m., Aloha Theater, Hickam Air Force Base; Sept. 12, 10 a.m.-noon, Barbers Point Branch Medical Clinic; Sept. 12, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Kyser Conference Room, Tripler Army Medical Center; Sept. 14, 1-3 p.m., Marine Corps Base Hawai'i Theater; and Sept. 15, noon, Schofield Barracks Nehelani Club during the Hawai'i Chapter of the Retired Officers Association luncheon ($12, call Jack Miller, 261-4100 for reservations).

Three briefings will be on Thursday on Maui: 9:30-11:30 a.m., 1-2:30 p.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. at the Kaunoa Senior Center, 401 Alakapa Place, Pa'ia. Call the Kaunoa Senior Center for reservations: (808) 270-7308.

Briefings on the Big Island will be Sept. 5 in Kona: 10 a.m.-noon and 4-6 p.m., Yano Memorial Hall, 82-616 Mamalahoa Highway, Captain Cook; Sept. 19 in Hilo: 9-11 a.m., 1-3 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m., Kamana Senior Center, 127 Kamana St.

Briefings on Kaua'i will be Sept. 7: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 4:30-6:30 p.m., Kaua'i Veterans Center, 3215 Kapule Highway, Lihu'e.


AIR FORCE

Dormitory ready by year's end

Renovations are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year at the Air Force Smith Hall dormitory.

"B" wing renovations are complete; "A" wing renovations began last month.

Renovated rooms have new bathroom vanities, tiled shower stalls, storage space and new furniture.
