Tube Notes

"Malcolm in the Middle," 7 p.m., Fox. In a broadly funny rerun, the guys get bad birthday presents for their mom. She goes on the lam, leaving them trying to get by on their own limited wits.

"Great Performances," 8-10 p.m., PBS. Here is an opera based on the classic novel "Little Women."

Goodwill Games, 8-11 p.m., TNT. After yesterday's opening ceremony, the international competition focuses on swimming and beach volleyball.

"Titus," 8 p.m., Fox. This starts another plot twist based on the real life of producer-star Christopher Titus: He and his wife agree to take care of her troubled teenage niece.

"The West Wing," 8 p.m., NBC. In an emotional episode, the White House can provide little help for a Haitian president who visits while his government is being overthrown.

"The Way She Moves," 3 p.m., VH1. This new movie has a bride-to-be (Annabeth Gish) falling for her sexy dance instructor.

"Within These Walls," 9 p.m., Lifetime. In this rerun, Ellen Burstyn plays a hardened convict; Laura Dern plays a nun, determined to launch a program that has prisoners train dogs to help the disabled.
