A 57-year-old woman was in stable condition at St. Francis Medical Center today after her pickup truck overturned in a three-car accident on the Moanalua Freeway.

The accident happened just before 7:23 a.m. in the east-bound lanes of Moanalua Freeway just before the Red Hill off-ramp and in front of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.

According to firefighters, a Toyota Supra tried to merge into a lane occupied by the woman's truck. The Toyota rear-ended the truck, flipping it on its side, and caused the truck to hit another car in the next lane.

Police closed several lanes of Moanalua Freeway as a tow truck moved the overturned truck. The closure snarled traffic past the bottom of Red Hill for more than 30 minutes.
