Wallace will speak at Quarterback Club

Riley Wallace, University of Hawai'i men's basketball coach, will speak at tomorrow's Honolulu Quarterback Club at the Pagoda International Ballroom. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at noon.

Others on the program are UH football assistants, defensive coordinator Kevin Lempa and running backs coach Wes Suan, and UH-Hilo volleyball coach Sharon Peterson, the club's female Sportsperson of the Month for October.


VOLLEYBALL

• Barry wins championship: Barry University of Miami Shores, Fla. won the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship yesterday, defeating South Dakota State, 30-24, 30-20, 30-19, at Grand Rapids, Mich.

Senior Jessica Jung, a 1998 graduate of Punahou School, was a defensive specialist for Barry.

It was the Buccaneers' second national title.


BASKETBALL

• No. 16 Seattle Pacific 86, Hawai'i Pacific 56: Yusef Aziz scored 15 points to lead five Seattle Pacific players in double-figures as the Falcons defeated Hawai'i Pacific at Seattle.

Nick Spajic scored 24 points to lead the Sea Warriors.

Seattle Pacific improved to 4-1. HPU dropped to 3-2.

• Brigham Young-Hawai'i 74, Alaska Anchorage 73: Alexus Foyle scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as BYU-Hawai'i edged host Alaska Anchorage.

The Seasiders trailed 44-36 at halftime and outscored the Sea Wolves 38-29 in the second half.

BYUH improved to 6-2. Alaska Anchorage dropped to 0-5.
