Water main repairs to affect 'Ewa drivers

Advertiser Staff

'Ewa commuters heading home on Fort Weaver Road tonight can expect traffic delays as Board of Water Supply crews repair a ruptured 16-inch water main beginning at 8 p.m.

The ruptured main itself is not affecting traffic, but repair work tonight will shut down both makai-bound lanes on Fort Weaver Road near the intersection with Renton Road. A police officer will detour traffic around the work site near Renton Road.

The main, which supplies non-potable irrigation water for roadside landscaping and several golf courses in the 'Ewa area, ruptured late last night.

Board of Water Supply spokeswoman Denise DeCosta said crews will work throughout the night on the water main and have it completed tomorrow.

No drinking water customers are being affected by the water main break.
