Ho'okena concert tickets on sale
Ho'okena will present its second annual yuletide concert, "Home for the Holidays," at 6 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Hawai'i Theatre.
The program will be a blend of traditional holiday hits, Hawaiian favorites and contemporary Christmas music, delivered in Ho'okena's trademark harmony-laden style.
Keali'i Reichel will be a guest artist, along with Zanuck Lindsey and Ginai, from Hula Joe and the Hutjumpers.

Kumu Kahua seeks plays Kumu Kahua's annual playwriting contest, which seeks new works set in Hawai'i or deal with some aspect of the Hawai'i experience, now is under way.
Three categories of competition are available:
A $500 Hawai'i prize, for residents and nonresidents, for works specifically set in the Islands and linked to a Hawai'i experience.
A $400 Pacific Rim prize, which is set in or dealing with the Pacific Islands, the Pacific Rim or the Pacific-Asian American experience.
A $200 Resident prize, open to residents of Hawai'i at the time of submission, on any topic. To receive a flier on the contest rules, call Kumu Kahua at 536-4222.
