Tonight's Must-See

"Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story" conclusion, 8 p.m., CBS. In the first half of this brilliant miniseries, mogul Jack Robinson (Matthew Modine) realized something startling: His fortune began 15 generations ago, from treasures looted atop a beanstalk. Now he has climbed the stalk. Since time is different there — it has been 391 years below, only 391 days above — the victims are still there. That includes the beauty (Mia Sara) jilted by his ancestor. It also includes a lordly judge (Lord Richard Attenborough) who could sentence Jack to death. Back home, there's a mysterious matron (Vanessa Redgrave), a meek aide (Jon Voight) and more.

Of note

"InStyle: Celebrities at Home," 7 p.m., NBC. Sure, it's nice to peek at the beauty of Kelsey Grammer's home, the whimsy of David Copperfield's penthouse and the luxury of Mark Anthony's four-bedroom boat. Still, this hour becomes unbearable because of the fawning and overwritten narration.

"Home for the Holidays with Martha Stewart," 7 p.m., CBS. This hour must be better than the awful Christmas special Stewart had a few years ago.

"The Godfather" (1972), 6 p.m., TNN. Here's one of the greatest films ever, winner of Oscars for best picture, actor (Marlon Brando) and script. This one will be uncut, with strong language and fierce violence intact. So will the sequel, which airs tomorrow.

"Billboard Music Awards," 7 p.m., FOX. This show (honoring record sales, not trends) includes Britney Spears, 'NSync, Alicia Keys and Destiny's Child.

"NYPD Blue," 8 p.m., ABC. An arsonist illustrates a hatred toward some Arab Americans.

"The Lost Battalion," 7 p.m., A&E. "NYPD Blue" fans can catch Rick Schroder in a true story of a heroic stand that some city guys from New York made in the Argonne Forest of France during World War I.
