And with an amazing 43-inch vertical leap, the Pearl City outside hitter did.
Allison Dupont was named Player of the Year.
Dupont, a 5-foot-10 senior, was the OIA West's most spectacular and crowd-pleasing athlete, but he was named the division's Player of the Year for more than that. His all-around play led the Chargers to an unbeaten (10-0) run through the regular season.
"He was consistent in hitting, blocking, passing and digging," Pearl City coach Reid Shigemasa said. "When people watched him, they could see he was a pure hitter, but actually he was the complete player."
Shigemasa said he was most pleased with Dupont's attitude, because he was not the Chargers' main weapon in every match.

"He accepted his role, that's what I really liked," Shigemasa said. "But when we needed a certain point, Allison was always the man we went to."
Kauanoe Eldredge was named Coach of the Year.
Dupont had 14 kills and four digs in the OIA championship match against Moanalua, leading Pearl City to its fourth title in six years.
He is joined on the OIA West first team by senior teammate Conrado Radona (5-5), Leilehua senior Ezakiel Infiel (5-7), Nanakuli senior Fenton Palakiko Jr. (5-11), Radford senior Kula Tanuvasa (6-0) and junior Joshua Auelua (6-0), and Mililani junior Ryan Gonzales (5-8).
Mililani's Kauanoe Eldredge, who guided the Trojans to an 8-2 record and into the OIA playoffs in his first year, was named Coach of the Year.
