Fujino leaves: Raymond Fujino resigned as athletic director of Kaimuki High to become a civil rights compliance specialist with the Department of Education.
His last day at Kaimuki was yesterday. He starts his new job today.
"I'll still be working with ADs and athletic departments," he said.
Fujino is a 1979 graduate of Kaimuki and began his coaching career there while attending college. He had been a junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach from 1980-1994. He was varsity boys' basketball coach from 1990-1995, guiding the Bulldogs to their only state championship in 1993.
Assistant athletic director Ricky Shimokawa will serve as acting athletic director until a successor is named, Fujino said.
