Warriors' Class of 2002

Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i football seniors with their expected graduation dates and best memories:

Tui Ala
Running back
December 2002, sociology

"I'll remember spending time and building relationships with the guys. It was great to play with my brother (defensive lineman Houston Ala). It's been a real blessing. Not too many brothers get to play on the same team. I'm going to remember that for the rest of my life."

Brett Clowers
Defensive lineman
December 2002, sociology

"It's been great playing with all of my friends on the team. And it's going to be great to get my degree."

Joe Correia
Defensive end
May 2002, business

"I love hearing the crowd roar. I love when the crowd chants "Rainbows," even though we're not the Rainbows anymore. I love the friendships I've made."

Jacob Espiau
Safety
December 2002, sociology

"I'd have to say my best memory was when I was a redshirt sophomore and we opened against Arizona. I saw (slotback) Craig Stutzmann's first collegiate play. I remember him getting thrown to the ground by Chris McAlister (now with the Baltimore Ravens). It was hilarious. Every time I see McAlister on TV, I have to grin."

Jared Flint
Quarterback
May 2002, history

"I'll always remember beating Fresno State and being out there (as a holder) for the last play against Miami, when we won it with a field goal. I loved being here, even though I didn't play much. It's not one of those situations where I thought I got screwed over. The guys who played deserved to play. I learned to accept my role, and I felt I did the best with the situation at hand."

Robert Grant
Safety
May 2003, graphic design

"I'll miss my teammates, the coaches and the people in general."

Channon Harris
Slotback
May 2002, sociology

"I'll always remember my first college reception, which I fumbled against USC in '99. That's what got me started. I caught my first pass and dropped it. I had to prove myself from that point. That got me going."

Mike Iosua
Defensive tackle
May 2002, math

"My best memory is the 2001 win over BYU." (The game will be played Saturday.)

Nate Jackson
Safety
December 2002, sociology

"I have too many great memories. The best thing I like about being here is playing with my fellow Warriors. It's been crazy and we've been through a lot. There are guys on the team I'll never forget. We'll probably be best friends for the rest of our lives."

Manly Kanoa III
Left guard
May 2002, human relations

"I've enjoyed kicking back with the guys, making jokes. It's been real fun. I've enjoyed the past three years. It's something I won't forget."

Kalae Lee
Defensive tackle
December 2002, sociology

"Being a walk-on, I'm grateful for the opportunity to play with all of these guys. It's been a great experience to play Division I football."

Bronson Liana
Linebacker
May 2002, sociology

"It's been great to be around the guys. They've been like a family to me."

Bobby Morgan

Chris Riccardi
Safety
May 2003, sociology

"My favorite memory would have to be the Fresno State game (in 1999) or the O'ahu Bowl."

Nick Rolovich
Quarterback
December 2002, economics

"I'm thankful for all of the people I've met. I couldn't say that one moment defined my time here. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but the people here have been amazing."

Karman Saulsberry
Defensive tackle
May 2002, communications

"I set a goal to graduate, and I'm going to graduate on time. I've achieved my goal."

Brian Smith
