A 39-year-old man is being sought after he allegedly stabbed a woman and bit off her ear in a fight in Wai'anae. He faces attempted second-degree murder charges.

Police said the man is angry with the victim, 48, because she became romantically involved with his former girlfriend.

The two women had moved to Kona but returned to attend a funeral. The victim was leaving a relative's house at Puhinalo Place when the man blocked her exit. He stabbed the woman as she grabbed the blade of his knife; in the struggle, the suspect bit off her ear.

The man had the victim pinned and was hitting her head against the ground when a witness helped her escape, police said.

Parolee sought in robbery

Police are seeking 34-year-old Robert Flubacher for parole violation and on suspicion of robbing three people Tuesday in Waikele, attacking them with a knife and hammer.

Officials issued the parole revocation warrant yesterday and put out a public advisory on Flubacher, also known as David Kaufman, Noel Tucker and Roger Flubacher.

He is suspected of first-degree robbery in an episode at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, when he was a guest of one of the victims, a 21-year-old woman, at 94-828 Lumiauau St. The two were arguing when Flubacher reportedly hit the woman with a hammer. He also assaulted two other men, 24 and 30, hitting them with the hammer and stabbing the younger man.

Flubacher reportedly took the woman's keys and fled in her car, a 1999 blue two-door Camaro, license GYX-564.

Police consider him armed and dangerous. He is described as 6 feet 2, 185 pounds with a medium build, black hair and green eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.

Complaint filed in drug fight

The parents of a Roosevelt High School girl arrested for drug possession are pressing robbery charges against another student in what amounts to a fight over a bag of marijuana.

The battle broke out Nov. 30 when the girl, 15, found the marijuana packet hidden near a campus pay phone and took it, police said. The second student, 17, confronted her and repeatedly slapped her and demanded the return of the drugs, which the younger girl denied having, police said.
