Movie Openings

"Haiku Tunnel": The Associated Press dubs this movie "Working Geek," as opposed to "Working Girl": Josh Kornbluth, who spun his real-life temp experiences into a monologue, then a movie, stars in this look at office work gone haywire. Opens tomorrow at Varsity Twin. (R)

"Happy Accidents": Silliness crossed with science fiction. Sam (Vincent D'Onofrio) claims to have traveled back from the future to fall in love with and save Ruby (Marisa Tomei). Opens tomorrow at Restaurant Row Theatres. (R)

"Ocean's Eleven": Steven Soderbergh's remake of the 1960 Sinatra caper is slick and superficial — and, on that level, amusing. George Clooney is the ex-con who wants to knock over three casinos, Andy Garcia owns them, and Julia Roberts is Clooney's ex-wife and Garcia's current squeeze. Opens tomorrow at Dole Cannery 18 Theatres, Restaurant Row Theatres, Ward Stadium 16-Plex, Waikiki 3-Plex, Kahala 8-Plex, Pearl Highlands 12, Pearlridge West 16-Plex, Kapolei 16-Plex, Mililani 14-Plex, Windward Stadium 10, Ko'olau 10-Plex, Keolu Center Cinemas, Keauhou 7-Plex (Big Island), Makalapua Cinemas (Big Island), Prince Kuhio Stadium Cinemas (Big Island), Maui Mall Megaplex Cinemas (Maui), Kukui Mall 4-Plex (Maui), Front Street Theatres (Maui). (PG-13)

"Tortilla soup": Hector Elizondo, familiar from dozens of supporting roles, stars at last in a warm, comic movie about a Mexican American chef and his three daughters. All three girls, and their father, are unmarried, but perhaps that will change. In the meantime, there's an uproar of conversation at the dinner table, laden with photogenic Mexican food. The movie is based on the same screenplay as Ang Lee's "Eat Drink Man Woman" (1994), which was about a Taiwanese family, and jumps cultures effortlessly. With Elizabeth Pena, Jacqueline Obradors, Tamara Mello, Paul Rodriguez and Raquel Welch. Opens tomorrow at Restaurant Row Theatres. (PG-13)
