By Zenaida Serrano Espanol

Families can enjoy a merry and bright season at Candlelight Christmas at Mission Houses Museum, 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Tours will take visitors through historic houses and past live vignettes based on 19th-century journals and letters. Visitors will also congregate in the Chamberlain parlor for Christmas carols and refreshments.

"It's a way to experience Christmas past and the history of Christmas in the Islands," said Jessica Osland, one of the coordinators of the event.

Tours are available in English and Hawaiian. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for members; $9 for students, $6 for student members; and children 5 and under are free. Information: 531-0481.
