Palisades Elementary closed after main break

Palisades Elementary School in Pearl City was closed today after a water main break canceled classes, state Department of Education officials said.

Parents were told to pick up their children by 11:30 this morning. The Afterschool Plus program was also canceled. Students were being supervised at the school cafeteria until their parents or authorized adults could pick them up.

Repairs to the water main are expected by the end of the day. Classes were to resume tomorrow.
