Sporting News honors three Warriors

University of Hawai'i kicker Justin Ayat has been named to The Sporting News' Freshman All-America first team.

Ayat, a graduate of The Kamehameha Schools, made 19 of 29 field-goal attempts and was UH's second-leading scorer with 111 points.

Ayat's longest field goal was a 55-yarder against Tulsa.

UH tackle Uriah Moenoa made the Freshman All-America fourth team.

Moenoa, an Iolani School graduate, was the only underclassman on the Warriors' starting offensive line.

UH wide receiver Ashley Lelie was named to The Sporting News' All-America third team.

Lelie, a Radford High graduate, set school single-season records with 84 receptions, 1,713 receiving yards and 19 TD catches this season.

The junior also holds UH career records in receptions (194) and receiving yards (3,341).

Nebraska offensive lineman Toniu Fonoti, a Kahuku High graduate, was named to the All-America first team.
