Culinary Calendar

TOMORROW

• JOAN NAMKOONG, author of "Go Home, Cook Rice," signing, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Bestsellers downtown.

FRIDAY

• WINEZ & GRINDZ, four-course menu designed by chef de cuisine Steven Ariel, reservations taken between 5 and 8:30 p.m., the Pineapple Room; $64 with wines, $49 without. 945-6573.

SATURDAY

• JOAN NAMKOONG, author of "Go Home, Cook Rice," signing, noon-1 p.m. Borders Books & Music, Ward Centre; 2-4 p.m., Native Books & Beautiful Things, Ward Warehouse.

SUNDAY

• POSADA, a Latin American Christmas celebration, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Thomas Square. Procession around the square, re-enacting the story of the family for whom there was no room at the inn. Entertainment and traditional Mexican Christmas refreshments follow in the central courtyard of the Academy of Arts. Procession is free; Academy event costs $8 for adults; $3 for children 6-12; children under 6 free.
