HPD among award's top 10

The Honolulu Police Department was honored as a finalist for a prestigious award given to top law enforcement agencies.
HPD was one of 10 finalists from a field of 205 nominees for the Webber Seavey Award for Quality Law Enforcement presented by the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
The officer who accepted the award, Lt. Kevin Katamoto of District 5 (Kalihi), was instrumental in establishing an award-winning community policing plan in the district and assists the other patrol districts in their implementation of the plan.
The Webber Seavey Award is given in recognition for "promoting a standard of excellence that exemplifies law enforcement's contribution and dedication to the quality of life in local communities."
