Corrine Johanos, former Opera Theater director

Corrine M. Johanos, a real estate broker and a former director with the Hawai'i Opera Theater and Honolulu Symphony, died Dec. 18 in Hyde Park, Fla. She was 67.

Johanos, wife of former Honolulu Symphony conductor Donald Johanos, had lived in Naples, Fla., since 1997. She served as a member of the Collier County Conservancy and the Hyde Park Association.

She was born in Eldred Township, Pa., on Jan. 22, 1934. Johanos was a classically trained pianist, tournament bridge champion and the first Phi Beta Kappa night school graduate of the University of Hawai'i.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughters, Linda Delbridge and Leslie Brown; son, Thomas Rutledge; stepdaughters, Jennifer, Thea and Eve Johanos; stepson, Andrew Johanos; mother, Roma Mae Snyder; sisters, Barbara Beam and Susan Seiler; brother, Chester Snyder Jr., and eight grandchildren.
