Play focuses on relationships

Grownups who could use a good laugh about family relationships may want to check out the play "Over the River and Through the Woods" being staged Jan. 9-27 at Manoa Valley Theatre.
The play by Joe DiPietro follows the life of Nick, a single, young marketing executive, and his four Italian American grandparents who, after learning about their grandson's job promotion and a required move far away, try anything to keep Nick home, including matchmaking and an unending supply of food.
Showtimes are Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m; and Sundays, 4 p.m. Tickets are $25; $20 for those 65 and older, and military; and $10 for patrons 25 and under. For more information, call 988-6131.
