Blood Bank needs donors

Once the Christmas gift-giving is over, the Blood Bank of Hawai'i said it hopes residents will continue the tradition in the days that follow.
The blood bank seeks help as the number of donors traditionally drops because of holiday shopping and festivities, as well as the flu season. About 250 blood donors are needed each day to keep up with demand.
Donors should call 845-9966 on O'ahu or (800) 372-9966 to make an appointment. The basic requirements: good health, 18 or older, at least 110 pounds and valid photo ID.
The blood bank's center at 2043 Dillingham Blvd. is open every day except Sunday.
The downtown donor center at 126 Queen St. is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
