Outrigger Hotels donates phone cards

Advertiser Staff

Outrigger Hotels & Resorts has donated 3,800 phone cards so that military people overseas can call loved ones over the holidays.

Each card is valid for 30 minutes of long-distance service, including international overseas phone calls. The cards, with a total value of about $10,000, are being distributed to all branches of service.

"Right now, thousands of men and women are sacrificing time away from their families and putting themselves in harm's way to protect our freedom," said Outrigger President David Carey. "These phone cards are one small way to say 'thank you' for that sacrifice, and at the same time bring a smile to their face by making it a little easier to call a loved one over the holidays."

Over Thanksgiving, Outrigger Hotels donated more than 200 turkeys for military people, company officials said.
