Trustees elected to retirement system's board

Jackie Ferguson-Miyamoto and Odetta Kealalio Fujimori have been elected to six-year terms on the state Employees' Retirement System board of trustees.

Ferguson-Miyamoto, a 29-year state employee, was re-elected after serving one term. She is the O'ahu director-at-large and past president of the Hawai'i Government Employees' Association.

Fujimori, a retired classroom and resource teacher with more than 30 years of service in the Department of Education, was elected to her first term. She was the first president of the Hawai'i State Teachers' Association and will replace outgoing trustee Dr. Hubert Everly.

The Employees' Retirement System provides disability, retirement and survivor benefits to public employees.
