Jobe, Yamamoto win titles

In an all-Punahou School alumni men's singles final, Ikaika Jobe defeated Jesse Paer, 6-4, 6-3, yesterday to win the 81st Ala Moana tennis tournament championship at Diamond Head Tennis Center.
On Sunday, Jobe and Paer won the doubles championship, beating Joshua Hellbing and Derick Mills, 6-3, 6-4.
Yesterday, Jobe broke Paer's service once in each set.
Jobe, a freshman at St. Louis University, was last spring's Hawai'i high school boys singles champion. Paer, a 2000 Punahou graduate and 1997 state doubles champion, plays first doubles at Dartmouth in New Hampshire.
Jobe also won the Ala Moana title in 1999.
In earlier action, Juleanne Yamamoto defeated Jessica Broadfoot, 6-1, 7-6, to win the women's singles title, and Chickadee Moniz teamed with Celeste Donovan to beat Julia Sandborn and Adriann Gin, 6-2, 6-2, in the women's doubles final.
