Hospital names top manager

Moloka'i General Hospital has named Janice Kalanihuia as its new chief administrator.

She assumes her new duties on Jan. 2.

She will be responsible for overseeing hospital operations and administrative functions, including inpatient and outpatient services, strategic and business planning and hospital communications.

Kalanihuia has worked in the health-care field on Moloka'i since 1979 and last year was honored by the Hawai'i Rural Health Association.

The 30-bed Moloka'i General Hospital, operated by Honolulu-based Queen's Health Systems, is the only acute-care clinic and emergency room on Moloka'i.
