Ha'iku girl wins regional of Punt, Pass and Kick

Alaka'i Kealoha, 13, of Ha'iku, Maui, won the 12- to 13-year-old girls division of the regional NFL Gatorade Punt, Pass and Kick Competition at San Diego this month.

Alaka‘i Kealoha, of Ha'iku, Maui, finished seventh nationally in the NFL Gatorade Punt, Pass and Kick Competition.
The regional was held at the game between the Chargers and Oakland Raiders.

Kealoha finished with a score of 264 feet, 2 inches, a combination of distances of her punts, passes and kicks.

She finished seventh nationally. The top four nationally advanced to the finals, which will be held at an AFC divisional playoff game Jan. 19 or 20.

Kealoha, an eighth-grader at Kalama Intermediate, qualified for the regional by winning the Maui competition sponsored by the Kihei Heat football team and the Boys & Girls Club of Maui, and the state competition on the Big Island.
