Chief Justice Moon names four to judicial boards

Chief Justice Ronald T.Y. Moon has appointed new members to the Commission on Judicial Conduct, Judicial Selection Commission and the Judiciary Personnel Appeals Board.

Janice M.T. Luke Loo and Jackie Young were appointed to the Commission on Judicial Conduct, replacing Judith T. Fong and Dolly Ching. Luke Loo is director of the K.J. Luke Foundation, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific and Variety Schools of Hawai'i. Young is director of marketing and volunteer services for the American Cancer Society. Both will complete their terms in 2004. The commission investigates judicial misconduct and disability.

Lois M. Suzawa was appointed to the nine-member Judicial Selection Commission and will serve until April 2007. Suzawa, an assistant vice president for the workers' compensation claims unit at Island Insurance Co., replaces Christine Camacho.

Stanley Yamagata, an independent insurance broker with Business Insurance Services Inc., will serve as chair of the Judiciary Personnel Appeals Board through February 2003. The board hears appeals on personnel actions including suspensions, dismissals and demotions.
