UH president picks aide Nainoa Thompson, chancellor Neubauer

University of Hawai'i President Evan..Dobelle announced this afternoon key appointments, including UH counsel Walter Kirimitsu as chief of staff and Nainoa Thompson as special adviser to the president on Native Hawaiian issues.

Dobelle also announced the appointment of Deane Neubauer interim chancellor for the Manoa campus. until a permanent chancellor is named.

The new university president announced his appointments at a press conference during his first official day on the job.
