Okinawa, UH nursing programs team up

The University of Hawai'i on Tuesday agreed to work with the Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing to develop exchange programs in nursing, health care, language and culture.
UH President Evan Dobelle and Reiko Ueda, president of Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing, signed a letter of cooperation to launch the initiative in August.
Students from Okinawa will study English as a second language at Kaua'i Community College and nursing at the UH-Manoa campus. University officials expect to expand the program later.
