Ka'u man shot at home by intruder

KEALAKEHE, Hawai'i A Ka'u man who was shot by an intruder when he returned to his Hawaiian Ocean View Estates home Tuesday night was in critical but stable condition at the Queen's Medical Center, police said yesterday.
The shooting was classified as an attempted murder and burglary. Two suspects were being sought, said Det. Wayne Young.
Police withheld the name of the 55-year-old victim and provided few details.
The Hawai'i County Fire Department's rescue helicopter went to the home after receiving a phone call at 6:53 p.m.and flew the victim to Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua. He was later flown to Queen's in Honolulu.
Police said the man was shot in the upper abdomen by "one of the intruders."
The victim described one of the burglars as a man in his 30s with curly brown hair, wearing a T-shirt and jeans. The second man was described as in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 and 150 pounds, with shoulder-length hair.
