The 4th annual Paradise Ride will take place July 21-28 to raise money for organizations that help people with AIDS.
Last year 104 riders entered the 450-mile bike tour of four islands and raised more than $265,000. This year, organizers are hoping to double the number of entrants to raise more than $1 million.
The $300 entry fee covers the cost of meals and support, including massage therapy and interisland air travel during the course of the ride.
Riders pledge to each raise $2,500. The event includes a ride from Waikiki to Kualoa on July 22; rides on Maui, July 23, 24; on the Big Island, July 25, 26; and on Kaua'i July 28.
Proceeds are shared by five Hawai'i organizations: The Life Foundation, Maui AIDS Foundation, Big Island AIDS Project, West Hawaii AIDS Foundation and Malama Pono of Kaua'i.
