The Contemporary throws shindig today

Artist demonstrations, art activities for children, music, performance art and dance will be among the activities on tap when The Contemporary Museum holds its annual Art Spree program from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

Glass-blowing, sound sculpture, clay hand-building, mixed-media sculpture and printmaking will be demonstrated.

Entertainers include Jake Shimabukuro, Winston Tan, The Movement Center and Ka Wai Hu O Kauila. There also will be entertainers at King Kalakaua Plaza, including Bluzilla and the Windward Community College Players.

Admission is free. Parking and round-trip shuttle service will be available from Roosevelt High School and from the plaza garage at Kalaimoku Street in Waikiki. The museum is at 2411 Makiki Heights Drive. Call 526-0232.
