SPECIAL EVENTS

DOCENT TRAINING

Bishop Museum opens training for volunteer guides. The 10-week class, taught by kumu John Keola Lake, began June 23 and continues each Saturday through Sept. 1. Tuition: $300 (some assistance available); 848-4180.

The Honolulu Academy of Arts conducts interviews for Japanese language speakers interested in training as docents. Applicants must speak English and Japanese fluently and have an interest in art and culture; 532-3666.
