Stubborn blaze flares up in Waialua

Firefighters, including Robin Silva, left, and Danny Shim, returned yesterday to battle a Waialua brush fire that started Sunday and has burned more than 10 acres.

Fire crews, including the Air One helicopter, responded to the fire off Kaukonahua Road near the University of Hawai'i Poamoho Experimental Farm, said HFD Capt. Richard Soo. The fire was extinguished at 3:11 p.m. yesterday.
