Mrs. Hawai'i a brainy beauty

Kanekapolei Sydney Fasi

Kanekapolei Sydney Fasi is the new Mrs. Hawai'i, winner of the 25th anniversary pageant held last weekend.

A professional model and certified public accountant, Fasi, 32, is the wife of attorney David Fasi and daughter of the late Kane Fernandez and his wife, Linda. Her in-laws are former Mayor Frank Fasi and his wife, Joyce.

Fasi, 32, a graduate of Punahou School and the University of Southern California, holds a master's degree from the University of Hawai'i in business administration. She will represent the Islands in the Mrs. America pageant Sept. 21 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
