Duet

Honolulu Symphony concertmaster Iggy Jang and longtime friend and harpist Sirin Pancaroglu offer an evening of Debussy, de Falla, Lorenz, Piazzolla and more from 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu, 1730 Punahou St. Tickets: $10 general, $5 students and senior citizens. 521-4632.

Island Jazz

Hawaiian Jazz Night, including Island artists Gabe Baltazar, Jimmy Borges, Rodney and Kanoe Cazimero, David Choy, Moe Keale, Melveen Leed, Brother Noland, Rene Paulo and family, Jake Shimabukuro, the Betty Loo Taylor Trio and Hula Joe & the Hutjumpers, kicks off the annual Hawai'i International Jazz Festival 7 p.m. Thursday at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. The concerts continue at 7 p.m. July 20-21 at the concert hall and 4 p.m. July 22 at McKinley High School auditorium. The Honolulu Advertiser is a sponsor of the jazz festival. For the wee ones

"The Rabbit Who Wanted Red Wings," aimed for the preschool set, takes the Kennedy Theatre stage at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa at 9 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The story, by Nellie McCaslin and directed by Tamara Hunt, is about Little Rabbit and her animal pals who sing and dance in the forest. Admission is $3.50 for adults and children; school groups will be accommodated first. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8:30 a.m. each day of the performance. 956-7655.
