Schuler Homes' orders increase

Schuler Homes Inc. yesterday said new home orders for the quarter ended June 30 were up 16.7 percent over the same period, at 1,409 compared to 1,207.

The company attributed much of the increase to new orders in California, which increased 42.9 percent.

Schuler will release its quarterly results July 26.
