• July 31 is the deadline for postmarked applications (Form 2587) to take this year's Internal Revenue Service special enrollment examination scheduled for Oct. 17 and 18 at McCoy Pavilion. People who pass the exam will attain enrolled agent status and will be recognized by the IRS as tax practitioners qualified to represent taxpayers in audits, appeals and related proceedings. The four-part, two-day examination will deal with federal taxation, tax accounting, and tax forms for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, estates and gifts. • "Preventing Web Site Legal Problems" will be the topic of the Second Annual e-Business law Seminar on Aug. 21 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
