TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "What We Did That Night" (1999), 8 p.m., ABC. Even before Rick Schroder reached "NYPD Blue," many viewers knew he was a gifted actor. In good or bad TV movies, he kept giving subtle, yet moving performances. This is one of the good ones. Schroder plays a guy who has come back from prison, reminding his friends of a dark turn of events, eight years earlier. The result is powerfully written and acted.

TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE (cable): "The Mists of Avalon" conclusion, 8 p.m., TNT; repeats at 10 p.m. and midnight. Even if you missed Sunday's fascinating opener jump in now. This is a richly crafted and emotional film, retelling the Camelot legend from the women's view. Yesterday, we saw young Morgaine (Julianna Margulies) separated from her half-brother, Arthur. He would learn Christianity and prepare to be king; she would learn the old magic in an enthralling place called Avalon. This was a world where people obeyed the Lady of the Lake (Anjelica Huston). It was under her orders that two masked people made passionate love: The Lady (and the viewers) knew what they didn't — Arthur and Morgaine had sex. It was a sensational scene, rich visually and emotionally. More such moments are coming tonight, as schemes and plots threaten to crumble Camelot.

"King of Queens," 7 p.m., CBS. There's trouble in this rerun when Doug's Christmas present to his wife doesn't seem good enough.

"Biography," 5 p.m., A&E. Here's a profile of Jeff Foxworthy, the brainy comedian who skillfully steps inside the persona of a casual redneck.

"Ally McBeal," 8 p.m., FOX. Ally has twice as many therapists as usual, but it doesn't help. In this rerun both of them (played by Rhea Perlman and Fred Willard) leave her worrying about her relationship with Larry.

"Dangerous Child," 9-11 p.m., Lifetime. This new movie has Delta Burke as a woman who has an abusive teen-aged son — then is accused of being the abuser herself.

"RoboCop: Prime Directives," 9-11 p.m., Sci-Fi Channel. After showing up in movies and a syndicated TV series, the RoboCop character now gets his own miniseries. For the next four nights the cyborg battles evil.
