Musashimaru alone at the top

NAGOYA, Japan — Hawai'i yokozuna (grand champion) Musashimaru pushed No. 4 maegashira Otsukasa out of the ring today and moved into sole possession of first place at the July Grand Sumo Tournament.

Musashimaru is the only wrestler at 9-0.

Meanwhile, No. 1 maegashira Takanonami upset ozeki Kaio.

At 8-1, Kaio is in a second place tie with No. 7 maegashira Tamanoshima, No. 5 maegashira Takanowaka, komusubi Wakanosato and ozeki Chiyotaikai.
