Musical, comedy in HPU's season

Hawai'i Pacific University's 2001-2002 season will be composed of a fall musical and a spring comedy. Director Joyce Maltby has lined up these two shows for the drama season on HPU's Windward campus:

• "James Joyce's The Dead," Nov. 9 through Dec. 9. This 2000 Tony Award-winning musical is adapted from the classic James Joyce short story about characters in turn-of-the-century Dublin, and uses Irish music. Auditions will be held Sept. 7, 8 and 9.

• "You Can't Take It With You," April 5 through May 5, 2002. This 1937 Pulitzer Prize-winning play is about an eccentric family preparing to meet the stuffy parents of the fiancé of their bride-to-be daughter. Auditions will be Jan. 26, 27 and 28.
